bare cd recorder

    just received a cd recorder from kamplett.ie but it came without any cables or instructions .Any help would be much appreciated.

    i think you've put your question in the wrong place. I guess the easiest option is to open up your pc and replace tjhe existing cd drive with this new one.

    No, its even easier.

    Firstly, i your existing drive is set to master, so take a look at the back of the CD burner, and flick the little jumper to set the CD burner into slave mode.

    Then open the case, and slide it in beside your existing drive. Then, just grab a spare power cable and slot it in (the power cables are the 4pin ones), then use the existing calbe to connect the drive up. All IDE cables come with 2 slots on them, so there should be one spare beside your existing drive

    Then boot up and your done.
