About 5,000 vehicle tests and 500 driving tests in the North may have to be cancelled this week as civil servants continue their industrial action.

The Driver and Vehicle Testing Agency has warned of disruption to appointments at its centres in Armagh, Belfast, Craigavon, Lisburn, Mallusk, Newry and Newtownards.

Civil servants in a number of other departments are also taking industrial action, in the latest in a series of strikes by members of the public service union, NIPSA.
