Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Might this be a good thread to allow mix DJ's give links for their mixes?

I myself have a few I have done (and sold in local music shops), and its the best way to promote yourself.

They are of trance and house, and I use more well-known tracks. They are "One Mother Of A Hard House Mix" and "One Mother Of A Hard Trance Set". check out www.seanie-m.com to find a little more about them... the site is under a little refurbishment, so cut me some slack!

    sorry mate, you presume wrong.

there are a couple of "fun" tunes on it. i still hold a special place for "La" in my heart...
    but jesus! wtf loike????
    the rednex????!?!?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,795 ✭✭✭Seanie M

Yeah, I know... but I like the mix! It came out alright in the end.

That Rednex tune, its a dance remix, and it often worked at the time when I used it in the clubs.

    We all have our tastes!

    ;)

I think what tman means is that you have your mixes named after genres that the tunes don't really fall under.

If it works it works there's no failing that but maybe think twice about which genres your music falls under.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,795 ✭✭✭Seanie M

Yep, I know what you mean!

True, I don't stick completely to one genre of dance music when I label a 'set', I just put together what sounds good and see what the general genre looks like.

I can take your criticism to, no worries.... but do some of you think that alot of the dance stuff crosses genres drastically? I do... sometimes I think some of hats out there is also pretty boring. e.g. I'm not into progressive trance as I find it too repetitive and not energetic enough...

    thats just me!

that's all true and well. but there isn't one tune that i'd classify as "Hard House" in that set. it'd be a real stretch to even lump any of it under the widely encompassing "Hard Dance" banner tbh.

you seem passionate about your tunes, so more power to you:)

heh, i got bored last night and recorded an hour long mix. turns out my programming skills aren't really up to scratch:rolleyes:

    Eufex & Jay B - Hypnotica
Base Grafitti - If you have it
    Captain Tinrib & Simon Eve/Chris C? - Hip House
    Bulletproof - Mistakes (DBSK mix)
    OD404 - Magnecor
    NooNoo - Razors
Age of love - Age of love (Tony De Vit mix)
Trauma vs. Ian M - Deep swarm
Flymo - I am pain (The Phil Fee remix)

god knows where i was trying to go with those tunes:confused: none of them really compliment each other
i might juggle the tracks around a bit (and get rid of "mistakes" and possibly "razors") and re-record it next week...

not sure if i'll bother tbh. the mixing is fairly painful to listen to, insanely long correction delays, pitiful attemps at cutting, little variation in mixing technique. but hey... it was the best i could do without headphones

    "Hard House":

    DJ Quicksilver - Planet Love
    Marc Et Claude - La
    DJ Baloon - Monster Sound
    Bossi - Reality
    Loack'n'Load - Blow Ya Mind
    Sabotage - Return To Ibiza
    Aquagen - Phatt Bass
    Lightforce - The Riddle
DJ Sakin and Friends - For The Love Of A Princess
Rednex - The Way I Mate

I agree with the very bad labeling. Hard house? Not even close mate. If your trying to sell these in shops ect I suggest you change the name of your cd to "One mother of a cheese mix".

did you get the pm i sent yesterday before boards went tits up?

the tracklist i posted is for a set that swings from 147 to 152+, i get sick of listening to music that fast. but its the speed that i feel most comfortable playing at.
i play anywhere between 70 and 190 usually.

anyway, here's the mix that i posted a tracky to earlier.
it seriously goes to **** after the 3rd tune:dunno: (hip house)

    http://www.audioarch.co.uk/~tman/ch00ch00.pls
    that should make it stream...

you can thank Ste- for helping host the forthcoming aural assault

the file name should give it all away; it's a complete train wreck from beginning to end:dunno:

think i might try doing a less hectic mix over the next few weeks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 362 ✭✭theone

ah it's not about the mixing it's the programming that counts if the tunes are in the right place thats all that matters, got the pm btw i'll post them out 2morrow *fingers crossed* they shud be with ya soon depending on the post :)
