    Iarnród Éireann announces investment
    18 May 2004 14:01

Iarnród Éireann has said it is committed to a multi-million euro investment in new rolling stock, including more than 100 carriages, which it is hoped will increase the frequency and quality of Intercity services.

The company has also announced an expansion of services in the southeast following the completion of an €8 million investment in signalling.

The announcements were made in Waterford to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the railway in the city.

    eh?

how many times have they announced these carriages now?

presumably these are the new carriages for the cork line (67 units) plus the additional railcars that have been ordered from spain (40 or so units) and have been announced numerous times by IE and Seamus Brennan already.
