    Validation rules...

    Anyone know how to set them so that:

    only '1' or '2' can be entered?
    only 'dog' or 'cat' or 'bird' can be entered?

    Its bloody basic but I dont know how?!
    And the net has been most unhelpful!!

    go to design mode,
    click the field
    at the bottom of the screen enter the validation rule as follows = 1 or 2
    or
    = cat or dog

    No quotation marks or anything?

    access willl add quotes for you if you're that lazy
