    Going to the states soon.
and I left $1500 there the last time now with the exchange rate and the relative purchasing power of the dollar in it's homeland to the euro in Europe, it seems mad to convert and bring it back home even though I could do with the cash.

So I think I should spend it there!!!!!!!!!!

    but on what????

    Here's my choices:

    i-river hp40 plus laptop.

    A better laptop.

    A video projector.

So come on with the suggestions.

I have too much pornography already, (damn internet).

And although shares (in an oil company) would be nice.
It would be far too sensible.

Can you get a decent laptop: superdrive, (rip cd's, back up dvds) lots of memory, big screen, decent graphics card, docking station etc. for that kind of money???

Kind of thinking to try to use the laptop as a HTPC if I get it, I know a proper computer would be better but I'd never get past customs.

Then down the road I'd get the Projector to hook up to it.

As for the Mp3 player, I-river is the best out at the moment, right?
Thinking to use it as a juke box hooked up to an amplifier at home and probably for work as portable memory too.

Frind of mine picked up a Projector there recently..
Cost around $800, which in Euro was around €650 at the time..

Exceptionally cheap in comparison to buying one over here..
That'll even leave you with enough money to go for something else in your shopping list..

    Hi Krusty,

Do you know what projector they got?

$800 sounds like a good deal. If it's a reasonable model.

Well, this guy bought it direct from Dell, and had it sent to a friend in the US...
When he was over there, he picked it up.. Not too sure of the quality.. He's very happy with it though.

But if you check out some of the big chains, you should find something that meets your needs:
    CompUSA
    OfficeDepot
    CircuitCity
    House of Projectors

Decide what you need before you go, and check out the online prices, as the best deals can usually be found online. However, you may have some difficulty getting them accept a non-US credit card..

yeah!! been down that road alright, with the credit cards and all.

    But happy $800 sounds good!!

At this rate I may go for

    the 20gb iriver $400
    Laptop for $900
put some more cash with it and get the PJ too

    Cool!!
