Using laptop's on UCD's network

Is it possible? Say if I had the Novell software (through my own wicked means) would I be able to drag my laptop into UCD and plug it in? Basically, I have a few programs on my laptop that I prefer using to the one's on NAL. While I'm at it, is it possible to use Linux on the UCD network?
