Anyone replaced theirs? The silver boxes are very quite aren't they? Is that just the fan? How did you do it? i.e. what fan did you use and where did you get it.

Sony have revised the hardware 10+ times. I guess they got it running cooler so they could use a smaller fan. I doubt you could go doing it to an older revision.

I'm fairly sure you ca buy spare dvd drives online. PS2 is fairly easy to take apart. You'll find instructions online. If you can't PM me, i have them at home somewhere, and i'll send you a link.
