I know eircon aren't the best ping wise for online games ... so I was wondering whats the best setup , router / modem wise , to squeeze the lowest latency outa the line ?

will a direct ethernet connection be much faster than 802.11b wireless etc etc etc

I'm going to order eircom business plus.....

I use a d-link 504 router and send that in through my ethernet card and I get excellent pings for games. On battlefield I will max out at 80(rarely do I max out) generally will be in the 60`s

I play soldner with me and a mate and we both get pings in the 50`s on UK servers(thats playing on both my pc`s so they both feed from one connection)
I get down in the 20`s or 30`s when I play solo.

Lag is not a problem :D

eircom still have interleving on, expect pings of 40+ to uk servers and 30+ to irish servers.
