    After installing service pack 2 on my Windows XP professional SP1

    Problems :

    Machine hangs regularly--
    solution: power off and then ON

    When machine hangs---
    No signal is recieved by the monitor
    On the monitor, it says the generic testing message ( R G B testing)
    solution: power off and then ON
    Graphics card : ATI Radeon 9200 128MB

    what might be wrong or any solutions ?
    Machine is fully patched.

    you're using a beta, i.e. not a release version, i.e. probably buggy.

    SP2 has been released?

    go back to a system restore point prior to installing sp2 beta and wait for the proper release...

    fdisk & reinstall.

    altho my mate hasn't had any grief with SP2. only problem is the 180 day trial is up in the next month or so
