I just re-installed XP on my HP Workstation (video editing suite).

I have 2 x USB 2.0 ports at the front, that are now being deteced as USB 1.0

Anyone know how to fix it? Everything in device manager has been picked up fine, and all drivers installed without a hitch.

Yeah. I just got it sorted. Windows automatically installed USB 1.0 drivers for it, which is why it showed up fine in Device Manager.

I didn't know what to update, as there were about 8 different USB controllers: USB Root Hub x 3, and USB Host Controller X 3, & 2 other misc ones.

I just updated the driver for the USB Host Controller, and directed it at tghe recovery CD. Now it's fine.

    Phew!

    Thanks.

Windows XP pre service pack 1 doesn't support USB2.0 (it will use USB2.0 ports at USB1.1 speeds though)
