    i just bought a car and i'm goin with axa to insure it,,, now i'm 20 with provisional and this is my first policy,, i've just been told that for a first policy i have to pay half a years insurance up front:( is this true???

    i've already bought the car and dont have TOO much money to spare,,, i was told that i only had to pay first 2 months up front and then pay monthly...

    whats the story??? do i have to pay half now???

    Whatever you agree with them.
    Some places, Hibernian come to mind, demand the whole thing is paid in full by some drivers.
    I suppose it's to avoid a) Young drivers who make a big crash early on and pack it in before paying the full premium, or b) Scumbags who insure a car, pay a month's insurance, and rally it around causing damage before dumping the car and disappearing without having paid very much at all.
