Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Boards disappears at 3am

    Over the last while I've noticed that www.boards.ie doesn't respond for about 15-20 mins around the 3am mark. It responds to pings but gives nothing on port 80.

    Is this a known problem? If so, what's causing it?

    Is it possibly a side-effect of 'periodic daily'? (Set to run at 0301 on FreeBSD boxen (which www.boards.ie is running according to netcraft)) I can't see why it should be, unless ye've stuck something in /etc/periodic/daily that I don't have myself.

    Either way I'm curious to know what the craic is.

    And yes, I know I should just shut up and go to bed. :)

    The daily backup locks the database tables and makes the site unavailable for a short period once a day.
