mail me your network card's MAC address, your name, nick, email address, phone number*, address*, and desired hostname (should be the same as your nick).

To find your card's mac address under win2k/XP do the following:
    • Go to the "Run" command in start menu
    • Type "cmd" and hit enter
    • Type "ipconfig /all" and hit enter
    • Look for the line containg "Physical Address"
    • Copy the string of numbers and/or letters ie. 00-03-4E-2D-81-A2

Please send all that information in an email to the galwaylan account at oceanfree.net

I've sent all this out in an email to the people on the attendees list.

The reason I want this information is so A) I can setup the funky DHCP/DNS thing I got cooking and B) to stalk you while you sleep.

*These are optional, but I'd appreciate them, would give me a better idea of how many people travel across Ireland to the LAN and how many would need accomodation etc.

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

That shouldn't matter, you are using win2k right? Try opening the command prompt via the start menu (start/programs/accessories?).

So you can't get a command prompt at all? That just doesn't make any sense batman

Click on the Start menu, and select Control Panel.
    Double click on Network Connections.
Double click on Local Area Connection.
Click on the Support tab and then click on the Details button.
The Hardware Address is labelled Physical Address.

when do you want these by?
My box is kinda out of action at the moment.

    As soon as possible.

Some people's PCs (ie my own) don't seem to like DHCP for some strange reason.
I'll still have a pool of manual IPs for those who have trouble/don't register.
Thye just won't benefit from having an A record on the DNS servers.
