avi crashing media player programs

    Hi i just got an avi file and i'm finding that its crashes all my media players, wmp9, windows media player classic, divX player and BS player

    i get this mod name Xvid.ax error on all the players

    any ideas?

    If I'm not mistaken .ax is the codec file.
    Sounds like it's borked.
    Try a reinstall of xvid ?

    cheers steve, i removed the ACE Codecs and then installed just the Xvid codec, BS player said the file was corrupt but it seems to be playing.
