Cheers, I know the turn you're talking about, don't know the garage though.
Here's a run down of the problem.

Recently the cars been struggling a bit to start early in the morning, for example if I have the radio or lights on before I start it will struggle as if the power is being drained from the battery and sometimes the alarm would switch on which led me to believe the battery was going.

This morning when I first turned the key the car went a bit nuts and tried to close an already closed sunroof and turned the alarm on and off. Tried again and it wouldn't start. Somethings turning as there's a whirring and whining noise, maybe the starting motor ? I've no clue as I was at first convinced it was the battery as the problem was only ever early in the mornings and I moved the car last night and it started first time no bother. This morning was fairly misty and damp so I'm wondering if the dampness has anything to do with it. It's a 1.2 Bravo.

Ellis Poynton motors - same junction as the hospital, but go in the direction of the church. Personally highly recommend this guy...

well. checking battery connections will be kind of obvious thing to do and you should have try before you go anywhere.
Take them off, clean them, lube them with Vaseline and reconnect them back, specially if there is anything growing on terminals :)

You can't make it worst just by checking battery, if this doesn't help get the guy to check the starter for you

The guy down the road opposite the church, going towards the hospital is great. Take that turn then the next left (he's on Herbert Road a few door up on the right - the garage is behind the house.) His name's AIdan English and he's serviced all my family cars and friends' cars for years. His number's 8205757

Forgot to mention the guy I recommended used work in Tractamotors so he's a Fiat specialist. The thing you mention could also be the alternator.
