XP Pro - how to get a faster boot up ??

Howdy,i just installed XP Pro on my pc at home ,after having 2k pro for a number of years.I have noticed that the xp boot up takes longer then the old 2k one. Is there any way to speed up the boot process,at the moment it takes about 35-40 seconds to get into xp.I have changed some settings that shows ''OS selection time''…

Sorry to drag up this post again but i found out the problem......

I recently got a WD raptor and the same bull$hit slow boot time was happening....but my bro ''ubernerd'' fixed the problem by disabling the secondary port on the ''primary IDE channel '' in the device manager, the first is being used by meh dvd drive''.Xp was looking for a drive on that channel that didn't exist and waited the default 30 seconds before moving on.

The xp splash screen now only scrolls 2 bars then it's straight into windows in jig time

Hope this tip helps someone else.
