USB pen drive very broken

    Iomega Pen Drive keeps asking me to format the pen drive when i plug it in...then i try to and it says "Windows unable to format drive".
    Anyone have any idea bout USB drives and their mysterious ways>??

    Try cleaning the contacts by rubbing some white paper over it the gold wires,contracts. Also try a different usb port or even better a different pc - some
    times windows gets a bit confused....
    IBM have a free tool on their web site for reformatting all makes of PenDrive.
    Can also make it bootable.

    don't suppose you can remember the name of it?
    i'm getting sick of making bootable cdr's
