As in sign up now and get the setup work started, but not activate the connection until mid August (won't be around to use it until then). I rang IOL a few times and got different answers each time (and unkept promises to ring back with a definitive answer), but the general conclusion was they wouldn't allow it. So is gueswork as to how long the setup will take the only option?

3 or 4 weeks beforehand is a good bet for eircom, could be longer for IOL but. None of the ISPs would reserve ports on an exchange for a potential customer
