Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Holland coach Dick Advocat has told the uefa website that he will drop the 4-4-2 ' diamond ' formation in favour of 4-3-3 , after twp friendly defeats to Belgium and Ireland.
    Clarence Seedorf will miss their opening game


    Italy

    Italy have unveiled they're starting line up for the match with Denmark , it will be a 4-2-3-1 formation with no place for Gattuso or Cassano . Vieri will play upfront with Del piero sitting behind . Buffon is a certainty in Goals for the Azzuri . Perotta and Zanneti will sit in front of the back four with Camoranesi Totti and Del piero ahead of them .


    France

    Jacques Santini has hinted that captain Marcel Desailly will be on the bench for the first game with England.

    Santini : ''there is still time to make up my mind but I would say there will be between zero and three changes from mthe team against Ukraine '' .

    Desailly missed the Ukraine game with a injury . Santini also said David Trezeguet could be fit in time to start ahead of Louis Saha against England .

    while this formation change isn't huge, it is still a noticeable formation change that requires imo weeks of team practice to adjust relevant tactics to.

    for a manager to make such a change with only a few days until their opening match and without testing it at international standard of play (in a friendly game for example) is to me quite a daring move by the Holland manager.

    its the formation they used in qualifying , and the formation they used later on aginst Ireland , and in numerous friendlies so I say they'll be alright adjusting back to 4-4-3

    It's not actually a 4-3-3, its more of a 4-5-1. RVN is up front on his own which is the position he prefers. They hadn't got practice with the 4-4-2 but they have plenty of practice with the tactic they'll be using for the tournament.

    well im a countiing Ruud plus 2 wingers as the last 3 in 4-3-3 , Seedorf has trained and will be on the bench Van der Vaart is certain to start . Van der sar injured in training , which means the dutch are screwed .
