Wolf3d was one of the first games i played on the pc, followed by doom, so i owe it to myself to get this game.

    most definitely.
i've been waiting for a true sequel to doom for 10 years now, i owe it to myself to get this.
hopefully it's still on course for a July 14th release

    ahh

wolf3d, doom, doom 2, ultimate doom, final doom, doom x, ive played em all and enjoyed em all and now Doom 3

From what ive seen this game is just plain and simply scrumptious

I have to say though this is coming in second place on my wish list, next of course to the holy grail of all that is Half life 2

    Definitely on the wanted list

    Shin

Yeah, but Duke Nuken forever will be released before HL2.

As for me, I'll buy it as soon as it hits the shelves here most likely or order from play.com depending on how many other games I have at the time etc.

why does people slag off HL2 as being delayed forever ok fair enough the game was delayed a year (from sept.) but the game was only annouced last year at E3 for gods sake.

to keep on topic yes i will be buying doom3.

will be definately be picking it up, been waiting for it for a long time like many others. Its a "kill anything that moves game" which is the only ones i can actually clear :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

eh. i hate to break this to you Ruu...

it's more of a claustrophobic horror game, fairly far removed from the original 2 games:dunno:
get yourself a copy of painkiller if its blowing **** up that you're after

ah well, i hope its someway related to the older ones, if not just the title :)

I was. Then it wasn't playable at E3. With so few people having played the game so (supposedly) close to release I've decided to hold off on ordering it until I've seen some impressions from a good play through.

wasn't looking forward to it especially after the single player mess that was Quake 2. However I'm slowly changing my mind about this game. ID seem to have really gotten their arse in gear with this game. I'm looking forward to this more than HL2.

ho-hum... it's PC upgrade time (again)

Burst out laughing in the office at that! You bastid...

Yeah, will defo be buying the game. I'm looking to buy a laptop in the near future but I'm waiting until I see the recommended specs for the game. How sad is that?

The original Doom game quite literally changed my life, never encountered a game that could scare the bejesus out of you. It's a given that I'll be buying the new installment.

I heard on the Rumor vine (a combination of the Grape vine and the Rumor Mill) that it would need a gig of RAM. Any corroborations on this?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,339 ✭✭✭✭tman

nah. that might be the recommended, not the minimum.
no recent game i've seen has had 512mb as its minimum specs, let alone 1024mb.

i think you should consider upgrading nonetheless, nose:D

Will certainly be buying this game. The original Doom game is the sole reason I got a PC. :)
Will have to get a proper set of speakers as apparently the sound is ment to be unbelievable!!!

On a side note, I see Irish director Enda McCallion has been put forward by Universal producers to direct the upcomming Doom movie. This will be McCallion's first film. Hopefully he doesn't make a balls of it.
