I can't eat beans if they're not Heinz. Same with tomato ketchup.

It doesnt really matter if they were mad ein Ireland. I think its generally accepted that the we are being ripped off by the cost of iris made goods and thus I have lost my "taste" to buy "Made in Ireland" Goods

Jees guys, that's a terrible attitude... You keep buying foreign goods, and you can say good-bye to a large number of Irish jobs.. And do you really think this won't affect you in your cushtey IT roles?

I'm not saying sacrifice based on cost or quality, but where there's a viable alternative, then consider it.. (and by viable, I mean it meets your taste and value standards). Whenever and wherever I shop, I always look for Irish alternatives, and I really do care about value for money, and quality.

Oh, and by the way (Tesco):
Batchelors Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce - €2.54/kg
    Heinz Baked Beans €2.65/kg

the rip off ireland culture is a topic for a differant forum on a differant thread.

but for this one taste thread i started it with regards to taste wise between batchelors and heinz beans and i still prefer heinz.

Sorry for Hijacking your thread..
    Rant over. :D

I prefer Bachelors. I guess it's going to be based on wahtever your mother fed you when you were growing up..

Has anyone switched brands (alliances!) since they were a chiseler?

my entire family eat batchelors...i go home and see about 20 famimly size batchelor beans tins in the cupboard.

I usually fry some onions and chillies and fry in some green peppers with mushrooms and then add the beans.

    mmmm tasty

Heinz. It's what I grew up with too and it is what beans mean! I mean it's not "Beans mean umm ... Batcheleors.." - doesn't sound right does it?
I tried Tesco beans once. Won't be doing that again.

I don't really eat beans, so I can't remember which ones I do buy. I'd go with Heinz because beans means Heinz and all that.
