Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A friend of mine is thinking of getting into the promotion business, running his own nite etc.... Would he need to register his little operation or would he be ok?

    Cheers

Running his own night in a club is no problem if he can convince the club that he will get numbers..
but you talking about registering...? what you mean?

Does he realize how much work is involved? Has he been involved in promotion before, even helping someone else out? I assume he's getting into it out of personal interest - there's little chance of him making money out of it.

If he was to, for example set up the name xyz Promotions, would he need to register as a limited company or whatever?

He know's he has no chance of making money at the start, but he's found somwhere that won't charge him for hiring the room, which is amazing!!! It's a personal interest he has & he's asked me to do DJ if he goes ahead with it, so I'm chuffed anyhow :D

no need to register.... screw that, just pick a promootion name that hasnt been used in your local town and make sure the flyers look good and that theres posters in all the right places.... until he's booking out the rds for new years gigs etc theres really no need to worry.

and i dont think it should really be called the promotion "business" ---> promotion "really expensive but totally rewarding hobby" is probably a lot more accurate....
