Just in case anyone is interested.

"THE ORGANISATION for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) released a comprehensive report on benchmarking broadband prices.
The report, issued by the directorate for Science, Technology and Industry said the report was originally presented to the Working Party on Telecomms and Information Services Policy last December.

The 97 page facts and figure filled report is intended to be of use to OECD governments in determining their policies on Internet and broadband adoption."

    The document itself is

    http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/58/17/32143101.pdf

    Checkout page 33 - 34

I'm sure someone will be bothered reading it for the facts and figures.

i must say that was quite entertaining....... $231 for 512k here(unlimited dl) vs $41.57 for 24mbit in japan quality.........

i know we'll never have prices/speeds that match japan but somewhere in the middle would be nice.....
