    I've been reading/using GD since... 98 probably, always my favourite games site, always well written reviews/previews/news, loads of content in the shape of patches/shareware games, but last year it was bought by Yahoo...

    It's ****ing **** now, a truly abysmal excuse for a games site, impossible to find anything, and over 6 years of reviews is GONE.

    Can anyone recommend another reviews site, and can anyone tell me the story of how GD died?

    (EG is a good site, but doesnt review that much)

    It was sold to BT, then to Yahoo - the END.

    And? They still dont review that much, 10 games in May, seem to average about 15 a month across 5 formats, and I find they rarely review games I'm interested in.

    But the reviews they do, are good, well written even if I disagree with them.

    Eurogamer is really the best out there. State (http://www.extra-life.org.uk) is worth looking at, but content is slow to materialise, and can border on the pretentious and overly verbose. Still better than IGN and Gamespy, though.

    www.eurogamer.net = the daddy

    www.ign.com and www.rpgamer.com only for the heads up on imports and incoming titles

    www.gamespot.com is pretty good I find. Always use it for checking out potential purchases, particularly their GBA database.

    There were 3 big ones I used to browse, gamesdomain, gamespot and happypuppy.

    Happypuppy closed down, gamespot went adterrific.

    but Gamespot probably is the best site atm :/
