Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Magic pie are extremely happy to announce the return of Streetlife to Corks favourite speak-easy this coming Thursday June 24th. Whilst not as momentous as the fall of the Berlin Wall, We like to think that Streetlife had a positive effect on the Cork social scene last summer.

This time around we‘re going one better. For a strictly limited 13-week run( yes we know but we laugh in the face of Superstition..da doo doo) the kind folk of the Redroom welcome us back for a long overdue fix of Car-chase funk, Sunshine soul, disco-infused hedonism,The oldest of old skool hip hop,the most hip swaying latin & sundrenched house.

Welcome to a night where Stevie Wonder is God, masters at work are Kings and we are their adoring worshippers. No bull****, no attitude just guaranteed 100% quality.

We have assembled as diverse a line-up of DJs and performers as you are likely to see with each one bringing their unique interpretation of their chosen genre, all with the proven ability to help your ass find the floor and keep it there.

So…on Thursday evenings grab a cerveza or pour yourself a quadruple vodka y limon, have a nap till dusk and stay out dancing till the early morning (if you’re in to that sort of thing!).

The proceedings get under way with a bang this thurs with The legendary Boo williams ( feel free to parouse his biography below) & Cley joining resident Neil Corcoran. The launch has been put together with the help of the funky folk at Delearyus promotions who're bringing Mr Williams to town for one night only.Pre -sale tickets are available in Plug'd records on washington st & on the door on the night all for a measly 7 euro. The lovely folk at The classic bar are hosting a pre-shindig with contributions from The Pizza republic staff in the form of ,er,Pizza!

    Door Policy: Wear a smile

Boo Williams (Chicago,USA - Relief, Cajual Records, Nite Life
    Collective)
This is a man who was playing 'deep house' when it still meant the deepest, darkest disco that Frankie and Larry used to play. As a regular at the legendary Warehouse, where Frankie Knuckles held sway in the late 70's and early 80's, and at Ron hardy's wild Music Box, Boo was perfectly placed to watch the ascent of house music from a thriving underground scene full of wired, enthusiastic kids to a
worldwide phenomenon. He spent much of his adolescence building a formidable DJ-ing reputation, playing at Lil Louis' legendary parties in The Hotel Bismarck and gaining a residency at The Powerhouse. It was Glenn Underground who persuaded him to move into the studio in the early 90's and, along with the likes of DJ Sneak and Green Velvet, he became a leading light in the second wave of Chicago house on labels like relief and cajual that ripped up dancefloors in the mid 90's.

His last trip to Cork was some time ago in 'Sweat' with Greg and Shane and as anyone who saw him in The Sir Henry's tent at Homelands 2000 will testify, this man knows exactly what house music is all about - past, present and future. A veritable giant of a man and an awesome DJ, this Thursday Boo is going to jack you til you scream and make no mistake about it.
