Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hey all

I know there are many threads about this and i have read them.

I'm looking simply to share my UTV broadband connection wirelessly. It seems the Belkin F5D7630uk4A is the one to get (as I need an ADSL modem built in also, UTV only supply USB modem)

    Here It Is On Amazon

Can anybody, who uses this, recommend it or any other wireless adsl modem/router for less than €150 incl. delivery and vat? Or does anyone know where I can get this cheaper? I have seen it in Harvey Norman for over €130

    Thanks

im in the same boat as you. €150 with or without Wireless cards? Im ordering this tomorrow. Bit more expensive but you get a free laptop card with it.

Thats a bit weird. It says on amazon that its a router/modem, not an access point, but below it says you can share files etc.? I thought to share files, it had to have a built in access point?

Anyway, check out the above website (http://www.dsl-warehouse.ie), its pretty reasonable.

There are two differant versions of that model, the DG834 and the DG834G. The differance being the DG834G has a built in wireless access point aswell. Im assuming the one on amazon you saw didnt have the built in wireless access point.

To share files you dont need a access point. The access point is the wireless part. It is the infrastructure which sends out the wireless signal and allows wireless adaptors to connect to it. Sharing files is done though Windows/Linux/Mac Operating Systems using protocals.

dec2000, what your looking for is a modem/router/access point combo. The Netgear DG834G, mentioned above will do what your looking for €150 + P&P or you can look at this Linksys one which is €133 + P&P. You can also look at this SMC one for about €144 + P&P.
