England ragged in the midfield, someone should teach Scholes how to tackle...the ref very inconsisent as the Portugese fall left, right and centre. But one has to expect that sort of thing.

Great game, but are any of England's midfielders even playing?

Portugal's defence looks very dodgy, if Gerrard and Lampard assert themselves a bit they could do very well for themselves.

If I was Sven I would tell my players to start falling over a appealing to the ref for a free , because it seems to work for portugal , infact u dont even have to fall over as Deco has shown us .

England deserve their lead and fair play to them for not sitting back. Where the hell is Scholes BTW. I don't think it is possible for Scholes and Lampard to both be in the same game. Owen is playing superb, just shows what a goal can do.

Its only what the portugese deserve, they havent had a out and out striker but their persistence paid off in the end. England looked quite tired to be honest and were not keeping possesion or making the tackles. I cant see England going on and winning this to be honest. Portugal deserves this (especailly after the world cup debacle)

Campbell's goal shouldn't have been ruled out, would have been fitting on an individual level too as he's been the best player on the pitch by miles. Collectively though Portugal haven't deserved to lose.

They are so flat without Rooney!! They have just resorted to pumping long balls up to two midgets. Lampard has been very poor and Terry looks ****ed. Should take Owen off for Heskey and take Lampard off for Dyer. Phil Neville is an all out defender so they can afford to sacrifice Lampard.

Also, why the hell haven't Portugal taken Deco off? Figo wasn't great tonight but Deco was worse, it seemed every pass or ball he tried to play went straight to the English. I'd even go as far as saying he's the worst Portugal player on the pitch.

Owen is so bad it's unreal. Apart from one fluky flick in the first few minutes, he's been totally anonymous. Unfortunately for England, they've no one better on the bench.

Yeah, they should bring dyer on, but with Hargreaves and Phil Neveille in the middle I really can't see England winning it.

pure funny. Unlucky England or what ? That was a goal for england. but strange referree decistion.

However England look poor, they arent chasing the ball, they arent holding possession so I dont think it was right giving the goal. This may well go down to penalities as both sides dont exactly look like they wanaa going to score
