Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There was a Lord Mountjoy at some stage - maybe that's where they got their names from.

Mountjoy Square was designed by Luke Gardiner, Earl of Mountjoy, and so it was named after him. Presumably, Gardiner Street is also named after him.

As for the Mountjoy name itself, it seems to come from this fella - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountjoy_Blount

Well back when the prision origonaly opened the guards we concerned the blokes would not have anything to releive their urges on and might turn to homosexuality the curch was against it so they hired a woman to take the brunt of the prisioners frustrations her name was joy hence "Mount Joy"
