changing the band of your phone

    hey,
    i just bought an american pay as you go phone.it works on bandwidths 850/1900.my friend reckons it won't work at home because we use different bandwidths.is there any way to get it to work in ireland once i've unlocked it?

    No. It would have to be a tri-band phone. We use 900 and 1800MHz.

    not just "any" tri-band phone you can get in the US though, you need to be careful as outlined in this thread:
    quad band and tri band? Whats the difference?
