Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone see the MASSIVE* black cat on the news that's on the loose in Monaghan. Looked like it was about a foot long. The rabbits it was chasing looked bigger.

And now they have Army Rangers camped out in fox-holes waiting to kill it....

    Madness....

A Garda helicopter was tonight carrying out a search over Co Monaghan for a large black cat.

The wild animal was sighted earlier close to the Tully housing estate outside Monaghan town and filmed by one local man.

A Garda helicopter with thermal imaging equipment was flying over the Monaghan area in an attempt to locate the cat.

The Army has provided a trained marksman from the Monaghan barracks.

There have been irregular sightings of the black cat in the Newbliss area in West Monaghan for several months.

Last week, the puma-like cat attacked a herd of calves on two successive nights and killed one.

It is also suspected of killing a goat in the same area over the weekend.

Local Fine Gael Councillor Hugh McElvaney, who owns a pub outside Monaghan town, said locals now suspected there were two cats on the loose.

“There have been sightings in Newbliss in West Monaghan and now in Monaghan town, which is in the North of the county. That’s too big of a geographical divide for one cat,” he said.

He added that the cat (or cats) was now the talk of the town.

“Where they’ve come from – that’s the burning question. Is it someone who’s been raising them at home from years? No circus has admitted that any cats have escaped either.”

They reckon there's a few of these things in Ireland, and loads in Midlands UK.

All to do with people buying big cats and mating with stray cats, and after a few generations living in the wild, they grow to huge proportions.

    Allegedly.

In the SOuth, you need a license for a dog, but you don;t need any license to keep a puma, Lion, siberian tiger or any other such animal. The ISPCA are trying to get bertie to sort it out. Apparently there are 5 main breeder/sellers in Ireland.
