Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Divisions in England have been re-named, and are now called

    The Championship
    League 1
    League 2

In my eyes, League 2 will always be called The Fourth Division anyway.

    What think ye?

So, is it a good idea? 18 votes

Yeah, a change is as good as a rest.

Seriously? After over a decade you still haven't got used to calling it the 3rd division?

And for that matter, is the "Premiership" still the "First Division" in your eyes?

Maybe Liverpool are a forced to be reckoned with in Europe as well .

Well the championship does sound a bit more glamourous than the football league. And its probably good because it brings a bit of alliteration into the name of it. "CocaCola Championship". As a matter of fact the "championship" even makes it sound better than the premiership but i doubt the quality of football will improve.

I don't care what they call it as long as Leeds win it. Of course the likelihood is that they'll have changed the name again before that happens :(

Don't see the point to it myself. I prefer leaving it alone.

The point is to bring more money into Englands second tier of football .

U must have seen the Improvement of Englands top division since THE PREMIERSHIP has started .

It will bring more lucrative deals to the league and instead of the nationwide leagues being sold as a package to T.V. componies they will probably have to bid seperatly for the Premiership , the Championship , and then the other 2 leagues sold off as one .
