Hmmm, off the top of my head:
X-Ecutioners. Rob Swifts great, don't care what anyone says about him.
    Beatnutz
    Scratch Perverts
    Kid Koala
Coldcut. Check out the entire Ninja Tunes label basically.
Cut Killer. French guy, one of the best. Get Nique la Police.
    DJ QBert
    DJ Shadow
I don't really know any full albums of scratching, suppose you could pick up FanDam Plus by El-P (instrumental version of Fantastic Damage). It's a pretty crazy album overall, lots of wierd and wonderful sounds. The instrumental version of the Cold Vein is great too.
    But....
There's a Prodigy album called the Dirthchamber Sessions, I don't think you could really find anything better then that imho.

Thread made me think of a track off Jazzy Jeff's 'the magnificent'.
'Hold it down' at the end of it, it features a scratching sample by 'a bunch of dope djs' namely: Spinbad, Kwestion, Obi won, Avee, Soul One, Jay ski, Xcel, Sat one, Dirty Ice, Spin One, Babu, Qbert and Revolution.

There's ****loads of full scratch albums out there...the prodigy, EL-P and the Beatnuts have nothing to do with turntablism btw...

    D-Styles (get his album -- Phantazmegorea...unbelievable)
Q-Bert (Wavetwisters -- best scratch album ever, period. Get Demolition Pumpkin squeeze musiq too if you can)
The Beat Junkies -- Babu, Melo-D, Curse, D-Styles...there's too many in that crew to mention(The World Famous Beat Junkies Vol I-III)
X-ecutioners/X-men -- have loads of albums, look under Roc Raida, Rob Swift, Total Eclipse and Minista Sinista aswell
    A-Trak
    DJ Craze
    DJ Swamp
    DJ Rectangle
The Invisible Scratch Pikls (Q-Bert, MixMaster Mike, Kid Koala, Apollo, D-Styles, Yoga Frog et al...have some amazing mixtapes)
    DJ Klever
    The Allies
Return of the DJ Vol I-V -- First ever all scratch albums...mix tape styles wit all the worlds best DJs on there
Alien Army (The End -- Amazing Album)
    Z-Trip (Love his rock breaks)
    Cut Chemist
Future Primitive (Cut Chemist, Z-Trip, Shortie, Faust, etc)
    DJ Faust
DJ Shadow (Endtroducing - his first album - is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time and the first ever album to built entirely from samples - before Moby and all those wan k ers ever showed their faces - not really scratching in this but still quality Hip-Hop DJ music)
    DJ Yoda (Just Mixtapes)
    The Scratch Perverts

There's thousands out there but that should keep you happy for a good while. If you like the DMC then you'll love all the above...since the DMC has really gone stale as of late, the above however are truly talented DJs making original hip-hop music...

It has to be Rectangle and Yoda from me.

Yoda is the man! Have a listen to any of his 'How to cut and paste' series or if you can lay your hands on it the Essential Mix he did with Dan greenpeace.

In the meantime download this little goodie. Its Yoda live at T in the Park from a couple of weeks back

so endtroducing was released before 1991 then????? what a puzzling statement... yeah moby has done nothing but advert music since animal rights flopped and bombed but everything is wrong was a pretty important album at the time, and "go" was one of the classic tunes of 1990-1991.... i find endtroducing to be just as boring and coffee tabley as moby's stuff mind you... yeah its wel;l engineered and ALL of the sounds are sampled but its not like he was the first to make entire tunes that way.... most drum and bass and hardcore before that was done with just funk ragga and frequency test tone samples... if youre going to be a hater than at least fix up and know what youre talking about boy.

mind you the rest of your listy is pretty comprehensive and i cant fault it... not a big fan of craze when he's playing drum and bass mind you, theres no flow to his sets but thats the problem with most of the scratchy scratchy baggy pants cru... have you checked his productions on cartel recordings with juju?

    @Kilmseven
Liam Howlett made the Dirtchamber Sessions, from a Breezeblock set, and put it out under the name of Prodigy. I'd highly recommend it if you haven't heard it.

    Beatnuts...
****e, I always get confused with them and the Beat Junkies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,053 ✭✭✭Cannibal Ox

    Where abouts are you living?

Dublin, check HMV, Tower and All City.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 345 ✭✭Klimseven

Y0ou won't get anything in HMV...try Freebird, All-City, Big Brother...Tower Records might have a few...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,053 ✭✭✭Cannibal Ox

HMV has the odd thing, it's worth checking if it's on your way. Might get an album on the cheap (not likely though)
