I am wondering if I was to host a bf server on a linux box what is the estiamte per client.......

Eg, how much cpu on average will a client tie up, how much memory, etc

And is there any other hidden considerations which should be taken into account?

Could run a 32 man on that but start at 64 and work your way down , 32-40 would be grand with 1gb of ram may need more.

The CPU can run at 2505mhz with a nice fan on it :D
    /me strokes mine at 2406mhz.

All the info you need for setting it up and managing and the tools needed are on Black bag ops website.
Use their remote manager to admin it ,we all use it for any server we have admin for.
