Do you have to have a photo ID or anything to sign up if you've never been there before? Someone tell me quick as I'll have to go home at lunch to get some if you do :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,886 ✭✭✭Marq

you actually don't need photo ID. Just say you're there for the poker. they'll ask you for it next time, but you shouldn't need it tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,886 ✭✭✭Marq

I'll be there, with Brendan in tow. I look forward to taking all of your chips. and terminating you all. terminating you good.

Theres no real upper limit on seats so drag your mates along. Or better still leave them there and just bring their money :)

PhotoID is needed but NOT on the night you join up, you have to bring it in the next time you come.

    You're in Marlboro country now...

Used to be in Marlboro country, then they changed their blend. but enough about me.

Congratulations to DeV and everyone else on a great tournament. Really impressed and pleased to hear it will become a monthly event. Wound up at the final table with exactly as many chips as I started with at the beginning of the tournie. and then came seventh and got back exactly as much as I parted with, sans a fiver for the pleasure. then I left and enjoyed a Smooth Camel Filter. Great night all round so.

Just like to echo whats already been said - great tournament well done lads!!!
    When's the next one? :)

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

from all the organisers, you're welcome.
hopefully the next one will be better, we hope to run them at more reasonable hours then the casinos. Probably saturday afternoon.

Great final table play btw, some absolutely stonking action :)
Rossa finally took it, dominating to final table with well timed cards and just a little luck :). I'm glad one of the Boards Team did well... the rest of us spanked, hard!

    DeV.

Congrats Rossa. difficult tournie to win. what were the rest of the final table results?

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

I dunno but I saw some very fine play at the second last table, which I dealt to.
Greg (Quozl) had some awful luck being rivered three times to go from very big stack to very small!

We had a real train crash at the final table, UTG checked, Rossa moved all in (40Kish) with 10,10 ... Greg called him with QQ (about 10K) and UTG calls (39K)approx. UTG has KK but Rossa hit a 10 on the flop and that was that!

btw, did I mention Decker is a cnut?

    i got 5th.
Started the final table as big stack, had about 45 of the 150k. Got some damn nice hands but Rossa got even ****ing nicer :) I had some good luck earlier so can't complain.

I liked the terminator idea, knocking people out is always more of a buzz to me than winning the money. I guess I'm just a cnut.

    Greg

Grats Rossa by the way, good job :)

Who finished as top Terminator and what was deemed to be the baddest, most cnut licking beat of the night?

    Well done Rossa btw

Thanks, ejoyed the game. I always seem to play weaker when there is big money involved. Gotta get out of that habbit:( Roll on the next one:)

Quozl, are you the guy who knocked me out when I called your all in with pocket 7's and you had pocket 8's when the flop was 2,3,9? I knew you didnt have the 9 and doubted you had 10's or above. Thought you had AQ or something. Alas!

p.s. that waitress! beautiful. Keep them in the merrion so;) haha.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,308 ✭✭✭quozl

think so cormie. I was going all in a lot at that stage :) I was bullying because I was big stack by an order of magnitude.

I was pretty sure you hadn't hit that flop either, so either two over cards with just 2 to come, or a pair. And it couldnt be that great a pair as you hadnt raised pre-flop. So I figured I was probably ahead, and if I wasn't, a strong bet could well win it anyway.

I am a cnut though. Your face when you saw the 8s ;)

    Greg

That's why I called you. Bully-boy tactics on your behalf. 8's! Had to be funkin 8's! Well done anyway! look forward to the next one:) Who got the bad beat anyway? Allot of people were saying the runner runner, but it was basically JJ -VS- 7 10 preflop (that's when the betting took place, which is 81.4% in favor of hooks) but then the Ace high flush was beaten by a 2 pair turn fh on the river. Final bets on turn. River comes a fh, before river AHF was 91% fave.

I think the terminator leader was Rossa actually... he pretty much knocked out most of the final table!
50% of the chips for the terminator were cashed before final table was formed so the people who got to the final table only took 16 skulls between them before they got there...

Yeah, it was great fun.. Thanks Dev, Mr. Pudding, Hyzepher, and all of the other organisers/dealers...

I finished 9th in the end, so with two scalps, ended up with a net loss of 1 euro.:D
    Really enjoyed it...

I only had one disaster hand, which was my second last hand of the game.. 10 players left (just the Bubble to go (sorry Amp), I'm BB and I'm dealt AQo. SB had the chip lead at the time, and put's me all-in.. So I heard Amp go 'all-in' from the other table, and folded, to protect a seat at the final table (didn't know what Amp was holding), and hopefully at least get my 50 quid back.. SB told me afterwards he had off-suit connectors, something like J10, which would have put me about 65% favourite.

So I could'a waited to see if Amp was knocked out (which wouldn't have been very gentlemanly), and then called the all-in, which would have given me about 12k towards the final table.. Instead I folded, unluckily ended up BB again at the final table, with about 5.5K chips, with the blinds doubling on the next hand, and I picked up pocket 3s, which lost to Quozl's J9o (or something simillar).

All in all, a very enjoyable tournie. Well done lads...

Who was the guy who re-raised me 4K when I raised 2k and then I folded pre flop and Qouzl said "trying to steal it"? Is that rossa/Mr.Pudding? Is Rossa Mr. Pudding? Guy with glasses, stubble and blade 3 (to be percise)

Would it have been ok for you to wait to see the outcome of amps all in? Is it allowed? Should be:)

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,517 ✭✭✭✭Krusty_Clown

By the way, any idea how many boardsters ended up at the final table?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,886 ✭✭✭Marq

Mr Pudding took your money at the beginning of the tournie and was on table 3. Rossa is a Dapper Gent. Apparently.

Krusty, Me, Dapper and Quozl are the boardsters that I knew of at the final table. didn't know anyone else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,517 ✭✭✭✭Krusty_Clown

Would it have been ok for you to wait to see the outcome of amps all in? Is it allowed? Should be

I'm not sure.. At the time, I couldn't fold them quick enough! Put it down to lack of experience.. I'm sure someone (like the floor manager) would have called time on me, which would only have been fair, as we were playing hand for hand on the two remaining tables.

had you both gone out on that hand, you still would have gotten your money back as you went into the hand with more chips than amp did. TBH I thought you did the right thing tournament-wise: why risk 50 quid when you don't have to? both myself and Amp were short-stacked, one of us was going to go before you, barring some miracle on both of our behalfs. Ye did the right thing, and it was nice and ethical of you not to wait on the outcome of Amp's all-in.
