Does anyone want to guess what was going on here?

    boost.jpg

Never seen it before, my connection was doing the normal 54.8 aprox KBps download but then it shot up to over 80KBps which is really unusual for a 512kbps connection. After a few minutes of this it went back to its normal 54.8KBps ???

I'm not complaining, just curious to see if I can make it happen again :D

this might not be it... but if you download uncompressed stuff (such as large text documents) they can get compressed on the fly, thus allowing more data to be sent per second, and that might make the computer think you are downloading at 80kb/sec, as when the modem decompresses it on receiving, DUMeter counts the uncompressed data.
