Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Scanning for wireless networks through a router

Does anyone know if it's possible to scan for nearby networks using a wireless router? (Specifically, the D-Link DSL/Router/802.11g G604T model). For example, to scan for networks through the router gateway?

    No.

The router is an AP and as a general rule AP's don't scan. Some AP's can have a client mode and can when they are a client - I'd doubt the router can do that.

If you mean connecting to a router and then scanning the network behind it - that has nothing to do with wireless and people might not appreciate it.

For windows PC - get netstumbler

OK that answers it. I got the D-Link one above to start building a wireless home network. I figured I might need to use separate PCI/PCMCIA cards.

It's a pity as it would appear to be cleaner in my mind to have the router access or scan for local networks and then my own computers could connect through that as a gateway. Obviously it's not that fancy :)
