I was afraid that it would go straight to VSAT but it does look better than that. Ahern is flushing out a variety of last mile platforms by opening a micro tender between now and september....see Here Quite. Good stuff Minister and Dept of Comms people . Lets look forward to a national system which uses VSAT in extremis…

It is intended to allow for early identification of practical issues arising from the deployment of broadband services to schools and the development of a centrally managed schools network.

Quite. Good stuff Minister and Dept of Comms people . Lets look forward to a national system which uses VSAT in extremis rather than as a matter of course. (over half of all schools are both rural and small so ADSL is out ) .
