As sung by Lt. Commander Data in Star Trek Nemesis
Lyrics and music by Irving Berlin

I was blue, just as blue as I could be
Ev'ry day was a cloudy day for me
Then good luck came a-knocking at my door
Skies were gray but they're not gray anymore

    Blue skies
    Smiling at me
    Nothing but blue skies
    Do I see

    Bluebirds
    Singing a song
    Nothing but bluebirds
    All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
    Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly

    Blue days
    All of them gone
    Nothing but blue skies
    From now on

I should care if the wind blows east or west
I should fret if the worst looks like the best
I should mind if they say it can't be true
I should smile, that's exactly what I do

I should care if the wind blows east or west
I should fret if the worst looks like the best
I should mind if they say it can't be true
I should smile, that's exactly what I do

I've heard a few songs by him - he's not bad but I don't really like the style of music - it's scmalzy 1950s-type love songs that I heard.

i've always wanted that, think he may have done a second one ala ould yellow eyes is back or said he would do a second one if he broke even.

Spiner was on broadway last year when i was in new york (so was kate mulgrew at the time as well i think) anyway i should have put the foot down and went to see him, but no i ended up seeing rent which i thought was crap btw.

"Blue skies" by Irving Berlin is an absolute classic ! It was sung by so many artists in so many versions and interpretations.... It's just actually a very good, plain song. And I think Brent Spiner did a great job in Nemesis !
Musically, Star Trek tends to go "classic": Picard as the lover of all romantic classical composers, and Riker trying to follow him up.... The Doctor, in Voyager, with his enchanting duet with Seven... "You are my sunshine".... and not to forget all of his other escapades as a "tenor"
Not to forget... the Star Trek soundtracks... except for some end titles (Star Trek V, First Contact) are all classic in the purest form...as well as virtually all Trek games. Oh, is it just me or are there other people around that REALLY, and I mean REALLY like the game soundtrack of Klingon Academy ? It was composed by Inon Zur.... real Klingon opera !!!!! Brilliant !!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

he's not called vic fontaine is he not? i downloaded a load of vic fontaine stuff perhaps he's the original guy.

the star trek marathon was in ugc when it was virgin many moons ago before first contact was released. i know as the mother wouldn't bloody let me go to the thing on my own and i was well pissed

The person who played vic in DS9 his real name is deffinaltley James Darren. His star Trek name was Vic Vontaine (dont know if that is right spelling)

Anyone know where I can get the title music for any of the Star Trek series? Been trawling through the Internet and found nothing but snippets.

    That Picard Song kicks ass!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

    yes that can be arranged

but they'll be no talk of illegal mp3's here if they are illegal i don't know but we shall sit on the side of caution

No. illegal music is not the way forward. Clearly meant that I'd get them off some site like iTunes or Napster. Just can't find any store that has them.
