Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sounds more likely to happen than a transfer to a bigger Spanish club .

It would be a good move for him .

Harte's biggest weakness (other than confidence) is defending. In Spain they don't rely on their defenders as much as the premiership so it would suit him more. Hopefully he sign's, it will boost my interest in La Liga at least.:)

Wud love it if he moved!! needs to get out of that hole called Leeds(sorry Leeds support but I support Shef Wed) and get his career back on track! not only for his own good but the Rep team dont really have that much cover on that side!! lets hope he scores more from frees next season and show exactly how big of a muppet "becks" is!! Golden balls my ass

When he was linked with Valencia, you would have said - yes, great move. Or the likes of Celtic, Rangers, PSV, Ajax, Sporting, Benfica etc would suit him down to the ground, as most weeks he'd be playing against vastly inferior opposition and his attacking talents and dead ball skills might shine through.

However playing for a team that will be under the cosh, week in week out, will hardly suit him. Best of luck to him though.

According to Levante's website Harte will have a medical tomorrow. He will then be presented to the media in a 12noon local time press conference at the Hotel Melia Valencia Palace on Friday.

So it looks a cert now.:)

i think its a good move Harte. I know he will be in a team fighting for there lives for the hole season but i think being in La Liga will bring the best out of him.....i hope. Cant wait for
Levante vs. Real Madrid. its 1-1 and its the 93th min and Levante have a free kick on the edge of the box.......Ian Harte steps up to take it.....GGGOOOOAAAAALLLLLL.
    2-1 Levante.lol.

Hopefully he will do well out there and as neilbrady said, he'll show what an overrated piece of shit Beckham is.

Ive a feeling that being under the cosh is gonna bring something out in Harte , and get his carreer(internationel and club ) back on track , its not like he is in his 30's so he has to try and get form back sometime .

Harte's defending and pace are often critiscised (and rightfully so ) but hard only seems slow going backwards , he has no problems trying to run forwards (lazyness and lack of desire I put it down to , but now that he's out of that hell hole Leeds he can get the mental side of his game right .

Harte can be a decent (not terrific by any means ) when he really trys.

    Harte's gonna put Beckham's free-kick taking to shame ;) .

I just checked Levante's website and it says he signed a 4 year contract last night. Press conference this afternoon.

Hopefully it goes well for Harte and it must be nice for Leeds to offload another few quid off that massive wage bill. TBH, if you put him in a well organised defence and get him playing well he'd be an asset for most teams.

"I know they are a team who have only recently been promoted from the second division, but I have a lot of confidence in them.''

"I know I have come to an ambitious club. I am sad to have left Leeds, because I have left some good friends there."

"But I think I have made a positive step in my career coming to Levante, I was surprised by the reception I received at the airport and I hope to give the fans something to be happy about on the pitch.''
The Levante fans don't set high targets.:D

Maybe they're just appreciative of the way he played against Spain in the world Cup :D .

If this club really are the 'Wolves' of LaLiga then it mightn't have been such a good idea of Harte to sign a such a long deal with them? After all if (as I suppose is expected?) they get relegated and don't get back up again then I can't see too many people in 2008 having to much interest in a 31 year old Irish defender (who can't defend) who's been plying his trade in Spains 2nd league for 3 years.

Maybe this is just one last big payday for Harty?

Dont worry, if there is an Irish player up for grabs i'm sure Mick McCarthy will sign him.lol.

But i was surprised aswell to see Harte sign a 4 year deal because they will find it hard to stay up. But i cant wait to see Harte playing in la liga, just to see how he gets on. i bet sky will show 56 live Real Madrid games and 2 Levante.......against Real Madrid.lol.

Id put my house on Sky showing the 2 Levante games .

I presume they will show one or 2 more games against sides likes Valencia and Barcelona .

plus we always have : Revista Del La Liga :)

To be fair after Christmas they showed Barcelona just as many times as Real Madrid, maybe even more.

I dont think anyone would begrudge Harte, at least I hope not. He always gave his all for Ireland. I hope he does great. I reckon he will have a first amazing season, but then his defensive frailties might get exposed.

but even if they are it wont matter , Raul Bravo gets his game for Real Madrid no matter what he does , and for some reason he also gets his game for Spain , reminds me of that 'Brazilian World Cup winner ' Roque Junior (for those who forget he's a centre back )

Like Raul Bravo he was loaned out to Leeds from a big club (Inter/AC I cant remember :o ) and like so many Leeds signings failed miserably in the Prem .

and Roque Junior gets his game for Brazil as well .

I'm not really a connoisuer of Spanish footy but I seem to remember Raul Bravo only getting into the Madrid side because Roberto Carlos was injured?

Roberto Carlos plays on the left, Raul Bravo plays on the right side.

    I think.

Raul Bravo is actually a left back, he also can play (equally poorly) at centre back.
