Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Carew to West Brom

Premiership new-boys West Bromwich Albion are believed to be on the verge of sealing a shock deal for Norwegian striker John Carew.

The Baggies are looking to bolster their squad substantially as they look to make a second assault on The Premiership.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Serie A giants Roma bagging six goals.

He has now returned to Valencia - the club he joined from Rosenborg in 2000 - but he looks very much surplus to requirements at Mestalla.

New coach Claudio Ranieri has recently signed Lazio star Bernardo Corradi, and he joins a striking stable that already boasts Mista, Juan Sanchez, Miguel Angel Angulo, Salva and Ricardo Oliveira.

Sources in Spain are now suggesting that West Brom have agreed a €4 million (£2.6 million) fee with the Spanish champions.

The Baggies are also willing to offer Carew €1.6 million-a-year, for three seasons - although the Scandinavian hit-man does have other options.

When asked about West Brom, his agent Per A Flod would only say: "John is considering a number of options."

West Brom manager Gary Megson is a known admirer of Carew - as he attempted to sign him in 2002, the last time his guided his side into the top flight.

He failed to convince Carew at that juncture that The Hawthorns was the right move for him, but the player now looks to have changed his mind of the virtues of a move to West Brom.

Could Megson really pull this off
it would be a fantastic signing and if it did happen west brom would have pretty decent frontline with Lua Lua reportingly signing aswell:eek:

Interesting notion, could be fun for Carew and he'll get goals for the Baggies (hiss, boo!). £2.6 mill wont break the bank either.
