I am going to Dublin tomorrow to check out a 97 318i is there anywhere I can take this tomorrow evening to get it checked out or would everywhere be closed.
They are looking €9150 does this sound reasonable.

contact some of the specialists from the club link in my sig - they may help
I used Robert Harrison recently when I was looking at an old 635csi. He was both cheap & very good!

You don't mention mileage, petrol/diesel, spec or condition - the price is high if the car is in average condition or the mileage cannot be verified (service record etc). There is no point getting someone to look at this unless you can trust them, a BMW 318 is a desirable motor and its true condition can be deceptive to the untrained eye. The RAC and AA offer appraisal services - I would start there rather than trawling the Buy and Sell for someone. Be careful, don't view a car in twilight or in the wet and be certain the seller is the owner.

further to interceptor's advice, read http://www.autotrader.ie/common/buying/buying.jsp
also ring the seller a few hours beforehand and tell them not to use the car as you want to see it from cold. When it is cold, engine knocks, etc. will be more apparent.

He says it is a 318i - 'i' on BMWs indicates it is petrol!

It was too late saturday to get anyone to have a look at it with me so I went to see it myself. It was a nice looking yoke altho it had a dent beside the headlight and the cover of the gear lever was loose . The gearbox seemed a bit notchy when going into 5th . Was looking at cbg and buy and sell and their might be another one or two i could look at.
They are a very nice drive tho.
