i need to do a web design course over the summer.
it will have to be a nightcourse, and pretty broad, covering a wide variety of stuff.
the cost will not be hugely important, as my boss is going halves with me on it.

    anyone have any recommendations?
    i'm living in dublin

    all help appreciated.

has anyone here done these courses?
there doesn't seem to be a price listed, or even the dates that they are run from.

I'm doing the webmaster level 1 one at some point (employer is paying for it \o/). There's very little I can learn, but it's useful to have someone tell you the proper way to do stuff and a certification is a certification.
The classes are small, and I think the schedules change as callses become filled, so you'll just need to contact them. There's a link to click to get more info. I got a call back in 10 minutes. Also if you click the "Buy this option" links, you'll get the prices.

Personally I think its a very expensive way to get the basics. I don't think that the certification is that well regarded either. Most places will value experience, and example sites you've built yourself much better. But that said, if your not paying for it and you have the time to spare then why not

I thought it was just me. It used to work....

If my memory serves, the level one is about €1200 and the level two is about €2000, for the classroom options. Dunno how expensive the elearning one is.

i emailed them, and got a reply today.
    guess what?
    it's got more expensive!
    who would have thought!
i'm surprised they don't ask me to pull down my pants for a right-auld rogering while i'm at it.

    level 1 now €2000
    level 2 now €3000

tell it to the back of me sack.

    http://www.irishtimestraining.com/

they do each of the studio mx packages seperately at 600 euro a pop, so that 2000 euro seems to be around the same.

    And there's FAS as well...

    8 people per classroom
that means the level 2 teachers are getting paid

    €3000 x 8pupils
    7.5 hours per day x 10 days = 75hours

    ...€320 per hour!

    .
    .
    ..

    ...
anywhere else i should be looking?
    :p

the irishtimes courses are only 2 days each.
doesn't seem very long to learn big programs like dreamweaver.

    tell me more about fas...
    any chance of a link?
    i'm very very lazy
