I just thought of this idea for a thread; Songs with groovy bass-lines. It doesn't matter what type of music, just as long as you dig the bass!

    I'll start.....

David Bowie - John, I'm only Dancing

(the bass in the chorus is funk-tastic! Always gets me goin)

a lot of cure stuff have good basslines.

its all down to the bassist i guess.

gary numan used to write basslines first, and he couldn't play the bass at all...

"Dancing in the moonlight", Thin Lizzy
Any Jaco Pastorius, especially "portrait of tracy"
Anything Flea does, but "give it away" stands out
    Stanley Clark,
    Bootsy Collins,
That chap from "Robert Randolf and the family band", cant remember his name....
Was primus mentioned....?......oh yes, it was......whats his name again?

Rage against the machine, "Bullet in the head"
    Incubus have some nice stuff.....
Metallicas bassist....Rob something, I like him.
Most Motown records have nice bass lines.
So many bassists, so little time.....

Johnny from Mike got spiked has some legendary bass lines. "5 second heaven" is one of the most impressive

Also, I love the bass in "Is this what you wanted?" By Leonard Cohen. Funky
