Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

well he seems a decent manager , but im not so sure .
I suppose he would be more familiar with the set up being the former U 21 coach .

he only has 1 friendly before the qualifyers start , and I have a feeling the his French team wont be that good straight away .

Theres a few players to replace , and he's gonna have to replace them during a qualifying campaign .

Ireland could very well top the group .

I was hoping for hoddle because with him in charge i thought ireland had a better chance of topping the group. I dont know anything about Domenech but i would think he is alot like Brian Kerr with them both being coach of the Unider 21's. So i think Domenech will know what team to put out as he has worked with all he older french players from the under 21 day.
I still think Ireland have a great chance to get something in France in October.

Getting Lyon from the French second divison (currently Ligue 2 , France's second tier of football ) , to getting into what is currently known as the Champions League is a very big achievement

He has got his side to 3 European Championsips and in 2002 got to the final .

This is a good record (especially with Lyon ) , but on the internationel side of it , Brian Kerr's youth squads have been more succesful .

Domenech actually applied for the Ireland job but was beaten to it by Kerr. Should be interesting to see what he does although there is a sense that he was just the best of a bad bunch of applicants. Hoddle aside there was Blanc (no experience) and Tigana (hardly done anything great at Fulham).
