I bought one of these recently ... don't know if it's all you want ... but it's unbelieveably easy to use ....

I bought a Samsung Digimax 370 3 months ago. It has all the features you mention and is easy to use and seems to produce good quality photos. I thought it was good value for money at around €220.

I got a Canon A70 a few months ago and I'm really happy with it. It's 3.2 MP with a 3x optical zoom. The best part is though, that you can manually set the aperture, shutter speed, exposure etc.

It really is a very flexible camera. Great picture quality too.

I second the Canon recommendation, for the same reason. I got a powershot A75 a while ago and I am delighted with it. Full manual controls and superb quality pictures.
It only records movies up to 30 secs if you use the max resolution of 640x480. This is not important to me, however, but you did mention movie mode as a requirement.

read the reviews of different cameras at http://www.dcresource.com and http://www.steves-digicams.com

Also check amazon.co.uk for price, I was surprised at how competitive they were on camera prices.

try the Kodak DX4530 which I got recently from Amazon, great piece of kit easy to use, and pretty decent movie capture, I have a couple of minute long captures and still loads of 5MPX photos on a 256 card.
This is a 5MPX camera but not that much more than a 3 in price
