Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    REFEREE GETS DEGREE

Italian referee Pierluigi Collina is set to receive an honorary degree for his outstanding contribution to football.

Collina, arguably the best-known official in the world, will be presented with an honorary Doctor of Science Degree from the University of Hull.

The 44-year-old referee, who will be arriving in Hull fresh from the European Championships, will join hundreds of students being rewarded for their hard work.

He will be presented with his degree by Dr David Sewell, Dean of the University's Faculty of Science in a ceremony at Hull City Hall.

Dr Sewell said: "We believe Pierluigi Collina brings a range of skills to the science of refereeing, including detailed knowledge of his subject matter, objectivity and fairness and the ability to make rapid decisions based on evidence - such as events on the field."
