1. Learn the Voice tree, it's a lot better then just talking as people tend to miss it. Something "Incoming nme" then saying "near ur pos" is more information then typing all that.

2. Shouting "Hobbes Just fuking paint the poxy target!!" will get you no help, especially if I have just said I was fixing the base. If you want a target call from the voice tree. If someone can help then they should say so. You should also ask if you can get a painter before going 500 clicks in a heavy.

3. A person should never paint from the Mortor guys position. And never lead people back to him if your position is given away, it's easier for a light to get back to position then the heavy. If your painter is killed, don't give away your position.

4. If you lay down a remote inv station and set up a remote base, never attack coming from that position! Also never lead the enemy back to it. Remote bases are a big advantage.

5. One thing that p!sses a painter off is a mortor guy who needs a target, then when you paint they don't tell you that they have the target aquired or it is out of range. A good painter/mortor team can paint within 3 seconds and saturation bomb from then on.

The commands are...

V T N - I need a target (Mortor)
V T F - Fire on my target (Painter. Painting or about to)
V T A - Target Aquired (Mortor. Got a target lock)
V T O - Target out of range (Mortor. Can't get a lock).

There are others for saying sections are destroyed. Never paint longer then you have to as it lights you up like a christmas tree.

6. Never let Sep get the sniper rifle if he's on the other team.

7. Tell the mortor guy if he's missing or the target is destroyed. Mortor guys should always max zoom into the triangles to get pinpoint aim.

8. If your in a heavy and plan to be out for a while grab an inv station and set yourself up a remote base. If you don't plan to go far get a shield pack and don't jet... or... get a energy pack for speed.

9. Sensor jammers are snipers best friends, as are learning to kneel position. (Sep ignore what I just said )

10. If Gandalf says the base needs defense better help him asap.

11. Carnate is a pretty good Mortor guy and has got the mortor/painter team work almost down to a tee.

Agreed

One thing to add in about mortaring - mortar ppl should understand that lighting up a target is not the easiest thing in the world to do and there is a slight amount of haste involved.

Once you paint the target, you are lighting yourself up like a Christmas tree and shouting 'Here I am - please snipe, mortar and plasma my a$$ into last week !' (the enemy normally obliges too ...

Beacons are also underused for painting objectives in the enemy base.

Here's another...

You should never call "I need a target!" until you are less then 200 clicks from the required targets. Also you do not need to see the target to shoot it, so learn to fire from behind a hill/mountain and trust that your painter isn't trying to shoot people with the paint gun

Lastly... Who was the muppet on last night using the sniper rifle like a machine gun? I walked nearly up to a base in a heavy with someone machine gunning me with a sniper gun. Hilarious, I'm sure the guy prolly thought I was cheating when I wouldn't die

Hehe.. What really annoyed me last night was that muppet 'Raffles' - he spent the whole game camped behind our base with the sniper rifle - like he did *nothing* else. I must have killed the guy about 6 times, and each time he'd walk all the way back to exactly the same spot and set up shop.. jeez. Still, it was funny to work my way around behind him and blaster him to death at point blank range as he stood there zoomed-in.

Speaking of mines, I know that mining an enemy base is a good thing, but not when it's a very high ariel base, with good automated defences, and very few landing spots. Not looking at anyone in particular *cough* Hobbes *cough*

You did a great job there last night, but getting killed twice in the space of 2 minutes while trying to answer a call for an all out assault gets a tad frustrating. My point being, try to be selective when placing you're mines to hinder the enemy. I know that they are bound to cause hassle with friendly forces, but a little fore-knoweledge can be handy.

Well... :/ I'm trying to think which ones was it?!

I mined the front turret loads of times because that turret is a pain for heavies trying to get up top.

I mined the front entrance twice I recall, hopefully they should of been noticed before anyone was dumb to run over them (you can see them easy going in, just not going out).

Now the back was a different story. I had spent 10 minutes getting a medium up there with an inv station, I dropped the station and found I couldn't lay down turrets to protect it, so I call for someone to kill the 2 of our turrets so I can lay them down, because of the delay I laid a mine at each corner at the back to stop anyone running around and surpising me (which I might add saved my life )

So did I do anything else? I'll try to be more careful, honest... in the meantime watch the floors more often

This was when the generators were taken out, and gandalf, or you called for everyone to attack into the base. The first time I went for the top entrance, but overshot by about a foot of a perfect lading spot...and slipped off the edge. I expended all of my energy slowing my decent, and trying to remain on their base. It was one of the corner ones that time. It took me almost to zero health, and threw me over the edge. Since I had no more energy, the fall did the rest:/
/me gnashes his teeth.
The second one was the solar panel mine, sneaky and all as it was, it didn't help me much. It is difficult to manoevre away from mines, and stay on an awkward roof, on final approach (yes this from a newbies perspective, only having had 5 days experience with those jet packs)
