Blitzkreig is having trouble with ISDN connection,

At the moment the Ping times to local servers are ok, however the Thoughput is terrible for some reason, Downloading MSN Messenger from Microsoft was going at 300bps and worse when he tried to get GetRight.

Pages are loading terribly slow also.

He recently got his comp wiped, and reinstalled XP and the Modem Drivers (Lasat ISDN Modem Speed Basic EXT.) , since then these problems have been occuring.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

    Horrible Problem..

Oh and it says he is connected at 64k etc, adn as said before pings times were fine, just terrible download speeds.

    -Coz.

Hmmm... see something like this before. Basically under XP if the card is installed as a modem (not a Network Adapter) the default BPS speed of 2400 is used for the card. So despite it connecting at 64k or 128k, the throughput is *really, *really* slow. Check all speed settings.

Alternatively using Hyperterminal try a manual connection to the ISP. Test connection is actually 64K and do speed tests on the line. Then again, I am sure it's the software setting for the device itself.

BTW you will get normal PING speeds at this is just a "relatively" small ICMP packet that will fly down a low bandwidth line.

If you up the PING packet size it should slow down.. this would be a good test.
