Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have this funny feeling that they dont send the tickets outside the UK. (thetrainline.com is owned by Virgin, so it's the same difference using either site)

    From thetrainline.com's help site

    Question
Can I book from outside the UK?

    Answer
You can book from outside the UK, however if your registered address is outside the UK we are unable to post your tickets to you. To receive your tickets by post you will be asked to enter a UK delivery address

You don't need to have tickets posted to you. On thetrainline.com you can nominate a station to collect your tickets. They have collection machines like the ones at the cinema where you put in your credit card and get your ticket out. You do need to have the 16-digit or so confirmation number though.

Thetrainline.com is best way to pay for tickets; For searching the schedules look at nationalrail.co.uk.

And if you are a student or under 26 and spending more than £60 a year on tickets, get a young person's railcard.

I use the Virgin service regularly and have no problem, as Buffybot said you have to collect them from one of the ticket machines. I can't remember what i put in for postcode probably Ireland or Dublin 1 or something.

Like everything else, shop around, shop around and then shop around. You can get tix from the train operator AND from the trainline.com site as well. Sometimes the operator will have offers that the trainline won't. Me - I got London-Edinburgh return Midday/Midday for £20. saturday to tuesday....

    not available on Trainline!
